I am originally from Pennsylvania. At the University of Pittsburgh I completed both my Bachelor of Arts and Masters of Social Work. Since 2006, I have been a licensed social worker in Ontario. In over a decade of practice I have treated a diverse range of issues and worked with several different populations.
Though most of my earlier clinical training is working with children, teens, and their families, I treat all ages. I do carry specific expertise with treating school avoidance; however school avoidance is difficult to treat in private practice alone. That being said, I can be helpful in determining the cause of the school avoidance and determining which interventions need to be put into place. In addition to providing evidenced-based treatments, I am also knowledgeable about community resources and utilize those resources when appropriate.
I am registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW)and practice within the guidelines and scope of practice that the OCSWSSW have set. I am also registered with the OASW (Ontario Association of Social Workers).
